By signing up for a class or private lesson with Fit to Fly LLC, you hereby agree to the following Studio Policies:
Attendance:
- Age Requirements- Unless otherwise stated in the class/private lesson title, the minimum age required to attend any class, workshop or aerial party is 16 years of age. We do offer 45-minute private lessons for 13-15 year old teens.
- Tardiness- Class will begin promptly at the scheduled time and the door will be locked so as not to disrupt class. Any student arriving more than 5 minutes late to class will not be permitted to participate, and they will forfeit the cost/pass for that class. Due to the nature of aerial/yoga/fitness classes, proper warm up is of the utmost importance for injury reduction. This means that at the start time of class, you need to be on your mat- not just walking through the door. Please plan to arrive at least 5-10 minutes ahead of time to account for any traffic that you may encounter, to use the restroom and get settled on your mat. We appreciate your understanding and respecting our instructors’ and other students’ valuable time, as well as your own safety.
- Spotting- Due to the nature of aerial classes (and some on-the-mat classes), sometimes hands-on spotting is necessary. This can range from a light touch to more rigorous spotting techniques such as the instructor wrapping their arms around your torso or partially supporting your weight to help you into or out of a pose. It is the student’s responsibility to let us/your instructor know if you are uncomfortable with hands on spotting and we will do our best to avoid touching you (except in the case of potential emergency situations, such as if the student is looking like they are about to fall). Self-spotting techniques will be applied whenever possible, though this may not always be an option depending on the skill. Your instructor will do their best to give you a heads-up when, where, and how they’re going to touch you if they deem that hands on spotting is needed.
- Pictures/video- Please note that the entryway and main studio space is under video surveillance for safety and security purposes. Occasionally, instructors may take pictures/videos of students during classes for promotional purposes. Your instructor will always let the class know when and if they are planning on taking pictures so that you can choose to step out of frame if you are uncomfortable with your picture being taken/posted. Students are encouraged to take pictures/videos of themselves during class to help them improve upon and remember skills and are expected to be mindful of/ask permission of any other students appearing in their videos before they post them on social media.
- Guests- Please make alternate arrangements for childcare when attending class, lessons, events and workshops. For safety and liability purposes only the students participating in class are allowed in the main studio space and entry room area.
Cancellation:
- Weather- While every effort will be made to hold regularly scheduled classes, sometimes the New England Weather has other plans. To keep our instructors and students safe, we will go by local school cancellations/morning closures/early releases to decide if class will run. If a cancellation is necessary, students will be notified by email and text if a phone number is provided on the booking software. Any classes that need to be cancelled due to inclement weather will be credited back to your account.
- Group classes- Any student needing to cancel their enrollment in a class must do so no later than 12 hours before the start time (class pass will be credited on the student’s account). Any cancellations occurring after the 12-hour cut-off before the start of class will result in the forfeiture of that pass. We understand that the unfortunate (and hopefully rare) emergency/sickness happens. All students will be granted one “free” late cancellation per calendar year, so long as the late cancellation occurs no later than 3 hours before the start of class via emailed notification to info@fittoflynh.com. This will be noted on your account. Any cancellations occurring within the 3 hours before the start of class will not be credited. No-shows will also forfeit the cost of the class/pass. New Student Special Pass holders and Unlimited All Access Monthly Membership holders will be charged a late cancellation fee of $15 per class if needing to cancel after the 12-hour cut-off, or in the case of no-shows.
- Private Lessons (single or semi-private)- Cancellations must be made no later than 24 hours ahead of time. Full credit will be applied to the original purchasing client’s account. Cancellations for private/semi-private lessons made after the 24-hour cut-off will NOT be credited and will be forfeited at the purchasing student’s expense. In the case of one or two persons cancelling out of a 2-3 person semi-private before the 24-hour window, $25 credit for one person or $50 for two people will be credited to the purchasing student’s account. No-shows of one or all students will result in the full appointment cost.
- Illness- IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED VOMITTING OR FEVER, OR HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID WITHIN THE LAST 48 HOURS BEFORE YOUR SCHEDULED CLASS, PLEASE CANCEL AND STAY HOME! If you are experiencing mild cold symptoms and choose to still attend class, we kindly request that you wear a mask (we will provide) to class to limit exposure. Please inform your instructor ahead of time if you are experiencing symptoms so that they may choose hands-free spotting techniques when available.
- While very rare, in the case of instructor sickness or emergency, class may need to be cancelled if there is no replacement instructor available. If this occurs, you will be contacted via email and text (so long as you provided your phone number on the booking software) and your pass will be credited to your account for future use.
- Class Minimums:
- For Jackie, minimum sign-up guidelines are as follows:
- For morning classes, there needs to be at least 1 sign up by 10:00 PM the night before, otherwise the class will be cancelled. This does NOT prevent sign ups after 10:00 PM the night before, or the morning of, if there is already at least 1 sign up- simply that there needs to be at least that 1 sign up for it to stay on the schedule for the next day.
- For evening classes (everything after noon), there needs to be at least 1 sign up by 9:00 AM, otherwise the class will be cancelled.
- Abbi, Sheila and Jazz’s classes need a minimum of 1 sign up at least 3 hours before the start of class.
Payments/Refunds:
- PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF EXPIRATION DEADLINES ON ALL CLASS PASSES AND PACKAGES.
- Extensions/Refunds are only available in the following scenarios:
- Physical injury or extended sickness, whether occurring during class or away from the studio, which prevents the student from participating in class for the duration of the pass/package, so long as the studio owner is provided a physical copy of a doctor’s note. In this case, the unused number of passes will either be credited to the purchasing account for future use (expiring one year after the credit is applied) or will be monetarily refunded at the student’s request. One request per calendar year only.
- If an instructor needs to cancel class day-of, and no substitute instructor is available to offer a similar style class, those with packages expiring within 7 days following the cancellation of class will be able to have their package extended 7 days beyond the original expiration date UPON REQUEST via email at info@fittoflynh.com so long as this request is received BEFORE the pass/package expires.
- Personal Training Clients: Cancellations/rescheduling must be made no later than 24 hours ahead of time. Cancellations made after the 24-hour cut-off will not be credited and will be forfeited. In the case of emergency or last-minute sickness, one “free” late cancellation will be allowed per calendar year so long as the late cancellation occurs no later than 12 hours before the start of the session.
In-Studio:
- Inclusivity- Fit To Fly, LLC was created with the intention of being a safe space for people of different ages, genders, identities, races, sizes, etc. This is a place of community, support, and building relationships through the power of fitness at all levels. Any disrespectful or violent comments or behavior, whether made to someone’s face or behind their backs, will not be tolerated. The first offense will result in a warning, and the second offense will be grounds for immediate expulsion from the studio, with or without warning. No refunds or credits will be given for any remaining passes or packages if expulsion is found to be necessary.
- Self-Awareness- While every attempt will be made to accommodate the abilities of the students in appropriately leveled classes (Intro, Half Level, Intermediate, Advanced, etc.), it is ultimately the student’s responsibility to decide whether a particular skill/exercise suits their body and physical/mental abilities. Only YOU know how your body is feeling on any day and that can vary depending on a wide variety of factors. Students are always encouraged to take a step back and ask for spotting or modifications whenever necessary. You may crush a certain skill one day and have trouble with it on another. That is the nature of aerial/fitness. Respect where your mind and body are at on any given day and honor the fact that sometimes the answer to the questions, “Is this good for me today?” or, “Do I feel that I can safely execute this skill today?” may be “No”, and that’s okay! You’re still a good person!
- Hygiene- Please practice decent hygiene when attending the studio. A shower, deodorant, and clipped toenails are a must. While we have scented silks spray that we apply to the rental silks after each use (please let us know if you have sensitivities which would be provoked by this), it helps immensely when students are fresh and clean to begin with. We also have spray-on and cream type deodorant available for your use in the restroom should you accidentally forget to apply it at home, or if you need a touch up before class!
- Jewelry- For aerial classes, we ask that all jewelry be removed, ESPECIALLY RINGS. Hoops, dangly earrings or any jewelry that sticks out and has the potential to get snagged or bumped will have to be removed. This includes fitness watches, necklaces, bracelets, belly-button rings etc. This is both for your safety and the preservation of the equipment. If any jewelry is unable to be removed, it must be smoothly and tightly covered/wrapped. If you are unwilling or unable to remove or safely cover piercings/jewelry, please plan on attending on-the-mat classes only.
- Drugs/Alcohol- The use or possession of drugs or alcohol on studio premises is strictly prohibited. Any student suspected of being under the influence will be asked to leave and that class/pass will be forfeited.
